Weigh in Number 2!

2lbs off!
I am very pleased..I have already started 'estimating' points instead of working things out properly, and I know thats a slippery slope. Paul's 30th Birthday is tomorrow..eek! I have had half a bottle of champagne already tonight, celebrating the last day of his 20s! I do think I had the points for it,but haven't properly worked things out - bad me!
After the celebrations tomorrow I'm going to just try to get back on track and be very good for the rest of the week, and hopefully get either and STS or a loss next Monday. Not going to expect 2lbs this week - I'll be happy with 1! So yeah...one is my goal! But I don't want to not enjoy dinner tomorrow, and I don't want to not drink Champagne to celebrate his 30th!
I promise that after tomorrow I will get right back on track and will point EVERYTHING!!!!
So yeah, new weight is 12st6.

Goal Setting!

I didn't really want to make any 'official goals when I started the diet the other week. I've always set my goals too high, based on me losing 2lbs a week. I realise now that while that seems all well and good during the first 3 or 4 weeks of a diet, after that it gets much more difficult to sustain the weight loss - well for me it does anyway!
So...the first goal that I had in my mind was to be 12st2, which is a loss of 10lbs, and no mean feat for any dieter. The thing for me is that losing 10lbs won't really make a massive difference to how I look, I know from experience that I really need to be down in the 11s before I start to look and feel better. But...first goal was to be achieved by Valentine's Day. I think that's totally realistic. I'm hoping to weigh in at 12st6 on Monday, so if that goes to plan, then its just 4 lbs to go and over three weeks to get there.

After 12st2, the next goal has to be 11st12, which will be a full stone off, and I would LOVE to be there for the end of February. I'm not going to set any goals for after that...will just see if I make it and how I feel about the way things are going.
Right..Friday night and I have the points for some wine and crisps! Going to watch the Corpse Bride and relax with Paul and Rufus Pup who is home from the vets, thank goodness!

First weigh in...

I lost 4.5lbs!
Woop!
So down to12st8. Feeling good about this, I was hovering far too close to the 13stone mark!
I'm feeling quite motivated, and even allowed myself to think about hitting goal for summer, as opposed to for Heather's wedding at the end of November.
Just a short one, as stuff to do! Back soon!

Daaaaay Onnnnneeee!

Right!
Got up the courage to go on the scales this morning. 12st12.5lbs. So after a whole year of yo yo dieting, I managed to keep off a grand total of 2.5lbs this year! It makes me weep! At one point in summer I was down to 11st4!!!!
Well..can only look forwards! Things didn't go quite to plan this morning, as I managed to sleep in, rush around, leave without breakfast and spend 20 minutes defrosting the car before rolling into work 10 minutes late! Eeeek! Was almost tempted to get a toastie, coffee and bar of chocolate and start the diet tomorrow, but I was strong! Here's what I've eaten so far today!

Banana and pear at my desk, in lieu of a proper breakfast
Roast veg & cream cheese sandwich, packet of Walker's crisps for lunch.
Quorn peppered steak, baked potato and massive salad for dinner, oh, with some onion and chive cream cheese in the tot!

That lot comes to 18 WW points, so have three left, and will probably earn 1 on Wii Fit! Think I''ll have a low fat yoghurt, I don't like leaving points for the weekend, I always do better when I eat the same every day!

Last night of decadence!

I am supposed to be pigging out tonight, one final hurrah before the all new, all healthy, all dieting me. I have eaten sooo much rubbish over the last fortnight though, that I don't even feel like it! Just had a roast dinner and a doughnut, and don't think I can even face a post supper G&T! I have loads of Christmas chocolate left as well, including some stuff shaped like horse's heads, saddles and boots! Oh, and marzipan batons! I'll have to point them now! Gah!

I am feeling good about tomorrow. A brand new start. This year (or last year) just seems to have went so quickly though, I can't quite believe that its actually a whole fresh year. It doesn't bode well for the diet that I'm not full of that New Year New Me enthusiasm! I keep on thinkin that 2008 was just too good, and that I will never be able to match the things I did this year. Boo!

Enough..here's to tomorrow! A brave new world!

New year..new me?

First of January..never really the best day to enforce New Year's resolutions...the big, family Ne'erday dinner calls and there's no chance of me starting any kind of healthy eating regime until after the birthday party I'm going to on Saturday! So..the new me (mark 3) begins on Monday the 5th of January! I was here last year, all fired up and certain that this time I was going to do it. Somehow I just don't have the fight this year. Still going to give it my best shot. I suppose I've told myself that I will do this so many times, that even I have stopped beleiving that I will. Doesn't sound like the best attitude for a brave new year, but even though I may not be as raring to go and convinced that I will 'do it' as I was in January 2008, I'm still optimistic. I love coming around to the start of a whole new year. It appeals to my personality to think that I have this fresh, unsullied sheet and days and weeks in front of me to be different this time!

So..yeah...I want this mainly to be a diet blog, but here are the full list of BIG RESOLUTIONS, to be stuck to and for me to look back on in 2010 and say 'I did that'!!! (fingers crossed!)


1. Slim to 10stones. Think this is about a 3 stone loss (haven't weighed myself yet!)
2. Be organised in my life..from getting up earlier for work, to being more responsible financially!
3. Improve my riding, pass BHS Stage 1, and have fun with Mags
4. Have a great summer holiday
5. Do more with Rufus the Dog..back to training and start agility
6. GO TO THE GYM!!!

So..got all those wonderful intentions..but they start on Monday! Today I am going to my Mummy's, for a massive dinner, lots of alcohol and laughs, and the second last blow out from the 'old me'! Back on the wagon this time next week!
